The Deep-Rooted Olive Tree.

.بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Early morning, and a Ramadan morning. The birds chirruping and singing, and the moon, and the deep-rooted olive tree.

And Masjid al-Aqsa is attacked, mercilessly. Women, men: bullets, and batons. The windows of our sacred home, transgressed against. Brutalised.

There is glass on the floor, and blood, still and again, on their hands.

Some killed. At least 153 injured; approximately 450 detained. The Imām of the masjid had been attacked too.

Brutality: there is no other truthful word for it.

They choose to call it a… ‘clash‘, when there is an armed, aggressive, and abusive ‘soldier’ attacking an unarmed, likely fasting, Muslim woman. Men being shot at; windows being smashed in. It’s completely monstrous, and how dare they.

Her very heart is tied to this place; it is simply not something that any coward in boots can take away. They like to think that they are ‘powerful’, don’t they? The arrogance, the swagger, the… calling praying Muslim men ‘terrorists’ as they brutalise them and bully their children. Over and over again.

Still, however, in Allah’s very Name:

She will not be erased, and

she will not be erased.

Masjid al-Aqsa.
